How does a subscription work?
As a subscription box for guitar players, we will send you the guitar strings you select and then other awesome stuff to enjoy every month. You can pay for the crate every month or prepay for several months at a time.
OK! I subscribed. Now what?
Congrats! Your crate ships out around the second week of the month. For example, if you signed up on the 15th of October, your first crate will ship in the second week of November. If you chose to pay monthly, your next renewal payment would be on November 15th.
I need to make a change to my subscription. How can I do that?
You can manage everything in the My Account page when you are logged in. This includes changing any addresses, payment methods, or even changing string preferences.
If you want to change your subscription, visit the Subscriptions link at the My Account page*. Then click View on the subscription you want to change. Once you are at the page for the subscription, simply click the button below the subscription details that says “Change My String Brand or Gauge Preferences”, choose your new options, and hit submit! The change will take place immediately, but please note: any changes made after the order or renewal order has been placed will not take effect until the following month. In that case, please contact us to make a change and we will process it for you.

*Manual subscription changes are only available for Guitar Crate Acoustic or Electric, Guitar Crate Plus Acoustic or Electric, and Bass Crate at this time. Please contact us to make changes to other subscriptions.
I don’t want a subscription. What options do I have?
Guitar Crate is a subscription box and all of our mystery crates (Guitar Crate, Guitar Crate Plus, Bass Crate, etc) are subscription based. However, if you don’t want to remain subscribed after your order, you can cancel at any time with no fees assessed.
I cancelled my subscription. Will I still receive my crates?
The way our system works is that you will receive all the crates that you paid for in your subscription order. This means that if you sign up for a subscription on October 15th for example, but you cancel your subscription on October 16th, you will still receive your crate on November 7th with the next shipment. The subscription will not renew on November 15th however and no further orders will be created.
This is also true for subscriptions that are prepaid. For example, if you order a 6 month subscription but you cancel after the 3rd shipment, you will still receive the remaining 3 crates from your order.
If you do not wish to receive the crates from your order, you can simply contact us and request a refund. We will gladly assist you with a refund for any unshipped crates. Please note, a request for a subscription cancellation will not automatically include a refund! If you do not want to receive your crates and want money back instead, let us know.
Do you offer financing?
We partner with Affirm to offer monthly payment options for all of our non-subscription products. You can learn more about how Affirm works here.
Affirm is available for purchases over $50 in value and cannot be combined with orders containing a subscription. If you are looking to make a purchase with Affirm but do not see the option available at checkout, please make sure your order totals more than $50 and your cart does not contain a subscription product.
What else should I know?
We take customer satisfaction seriously. Nobody wants to spend their money online and receive poor service. We know that trust and respect is earned and that’s why we strive to resolve any and every issue to your complete satisfaction. No one is perfect, including us, but if there is ever a concern about your order or you feel like something is wrong, please bring it to our attention so we can take care of it.
